Fantasy sports have taken on a life of their own, opening up a whole new world to the fans where they can get in on the action and feel as if each league has a particular effect on their daily lives beyond their favorite teams. Learning how to win in fantasy sports comes down to understanding some of the basic concepts behind each type of league, and when it comes to basketball, hockey, or baseball, understanding the percentage stats is key. Whether it is the pitcher’s ERA, the goalie’s GAA, or a basketball player’s free throw percentage, the numbers of every player are tallied and divided to get a single number, an average that represents the team. Based on this concept, having a really good team or a really bad team could come down to one player, so the pay head odds would say that you can’t have any holes if you are going to win.
For example, if a sports betting fan added a notoriously awful free throw shooter to his team, like Shaquille O’Neal when he played with the Los Angeles Lakers, then it would be very difficult to win a free throw percentage category because regardless of how good the other shooters were it would be Shaq that always brought the average down. In the NBA, there are excellent free throw shooters, and there are awful ones, just the same as good and bad goalies or pitchers in other sports. While you may need a player that scores a lot to win in the points category, it is important not to acquire one of these terrible free throw shooters and sacrifice another, so make sure that you do everything you can to stay away from the players that will tank your averages.
