| Ortiz Tops Lists Of MLB Busts To Date |
|
The Major League Baseball online sports betting season has been underway for over a month now, and while there have been several surprise stories involving players raising their game to another level in 2010, there has been a few notable busts that have stunk it up. The Red Sox, Rockies, and Astros are all below .500 as of press time, and the play of David Ortiz, Chris Iannetta, and Carlos Lee are a big part of the reason why. While Ortiz struggled mightily in Boston early on last MLB betting season, it was never as bad as it is this year where the designated hitter has registered a .149 batting average. Bouncing in and out of the starting lineup, Red Sox fans are growing tired of their beloved "Big Papi", with just 10 hits in 67 at bats, batting in only six runs. Expected to be the starting catcher of the future for years in the Rockies' organization, Iannetta struggles from last season have only worsened in 2010, as the 27-year old was recently optioned to the minors after hitting just .133 through the opening month. With only four hits in 30 at bats, both of his runs and RBI came on solo home runs. While Iannetta has been a bust trying to break through, Lee has already been there but has seen his play fall off this year. The Houston outfielder is hitting .198, with zero home runs and just 6 RBI.
