MLB Fantasy Baseball – Is Braden Enough For Your Fantasy Rotation?

If you're into MLB betting online, you must have been as shocked as anyone to check out SportsCenter on the evening of May 9th, when the news rolled down that Oakland starter Dallas Braden tossed the 19th perfect game in MLB history against Tampa Bay. After making noise with his mouth, Braden made some with his arm, but will he go to the next level?

Braden shut down one of the best hitting teams in the majors against the Rays, and now, people can stop talking about his brush with New York's Alex Rodriguez, who Braden lambasted in the media for walking across his mound in a game. Braden made some more comments about it last week before his start, and everyone was wondering if we were going to hear anything about his pitching exploits. Then he went off against the Rays, striking out six along the way, and it earned him a spot on David Letterman, where there were a couple more jabs at A-Rod.

Is he worth a top spot in your rotation? We're saying no, unless he puts this whole A-Rod mess behind him. Plenty of pitchers have tossed no-hitters or perfect games, only to fade into obscurity, which would be a shame because Braden is actually a talented young pitcher who is ready to break out. He eats innings, and his walks are done this year, and the Athletics need him to focus on the task at hand if they want to boost their betting odds in the AL West.
