Heading into week one of the NFL betting lines season, it is important for every fantasy owner to set the tone with a big win right out of the gate, and there is nothing more frustrating than sitting a fantasy stud, or playing a star that is bound to underperform. This week, keep an eye on the San Diego Chargers as a team that will make a statement on offense, with players such as Phillip Rivers, Antonio Gates, and Vincent Jackson projected to have big games against a relatively weak Minnesota Vikings’ defense. Meanwhile, in terms of fantasy starters to sit this week, it might be wise to stay away from quarterbacks that are playing in rivalry games.
Two fantasy quarterbacks that should remain on the bench this week if possible are Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco, as the defending AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers open their season against the AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens. These sports betting teams are bound to beat the heck out of one another, and while it is possible that both will score a touchdown, those point totals will be offset by interceptions and low completion rates. Another game to stay away from could be the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets on Sunday night, while by the same token as the Chargers, the Houston Texans’ offensive stars are bound to go fishing for a big game against the Indianapolis Colts’ defense.
